Leading shipping law firm Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) celebrated its 40th year in Hong Kong this week with an extravagant celebration at the prestigious Hong Kong Club.

Some 200 guests including a number of partners from HFW’s international offices including Nicholas Poynder (Shanghai), Gavin Vallely (Melbourne), Richard Strubb (Dubai), George Eddings (London), Toby Stephens (Singapore) and Yaman Al Hawamedh (Dubai) attended the celebration.

Richard Crump, global senior partner (Singapore) and Henry Fung, Hong Kong office head offered a toast in celebration of the occasion, with Crump noting that while the firm has built its reputation on shipping and still maintains a solid practice in the sector, HFW has broadened its scope and now has excellent expertise in other areas as well.

The Hong Kong office was established in 1978 by former partners Charles Lowe and Tim Boden as the first HFW office in the Asia Pacific and is now the second largest office after the firm’s London head office.
