Hoegh LNG confirms two FSRU newbuilds at HHI and SHI
Hoegh LNG Holdings has booked one FSRU newbuild each at South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) separately.

The shipbuilding contract with HHI has scheduled the 170,000-cu m FSRU for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The contract with SHI, on the other hand, comprises of one firm order for a similar size FSRU plus options for three more units. The firm FSRU will be delivered in May 2019.

With the latest orders, Hoegh LNG now has 10 large size newbuilt FSRUs in operation or under construction.

Upon delivery, the new FSRU from HHI will be chartered to Global Energy Infrastructure Limited (GEIL) for LNG import project in Port Qasim near Karachi, Pakistan.

Hoegh LNG pointed out that the initial period GEIL charter from the second quarter of 2018 will be covered by an interm FSRU from the company’s fleet until the new HHI-built FSRU is delivered.

“I am very pleased that Hoegh LNG through its newbuilding program and market position has been able to establish a contract coverage solution which is in line with our strategy of building new FSRUs,” commented Sveinung J. S. Støhle, president and ceo of Hoegh LNG.
