Hong Kong port container volumes up 13% in May
The Port of Hong Kong continues to keep recovering from the slump of the past two years, with container throughput rising 13.4% to 1.85m teu in May.

The main Kwai Tsing terminals saw volumes rise 14.3% to 1.48m teu, not only marking a significant recovery from the slump of last year but even surpassing the corresponding period levels in 2015.

The non-Kwai Tsing terminals saw throughput rise 9.7% to 370,000 teu. For the year-to-date, the port has seen throughput of 8.47m teu, a 12.3% rise from the corresponding period the year before.
