Hong Kong: Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and the Queensland state of Australia announced on April 17 that the Hong Kong-based terminal operator will develop and operate two container berths at Brisbane port (pictured) in Australia.
HPH will operate Berths 11 and 12 and associated terminals, and once in full swing, the port's container handling capacity is expected to increase by 25%.
According to the announcement made by the Port of Brisbane Authority, seven international and domestic terminal operators and shipping companies took part in the bidding, from which HPH was recently selected as the operating company for the new berths. [18/04/07]
