Hudong snaps up rare order

Shanghai: China's Hudong shipyard has won a rare newbuilding order from Greek operator Polembros Shipping. Four 105,000 dwt aframax tankers at $60m each have been ordered for delivery in 2008/9 according to broker reports. Polembros is better known as an operator of vintage bulkers and tankers with a fleet, including the newbuildings, of 27 ships. The orders take the Shanghai shipyard's orderbook to 55 vessels totalling 3.7m dwt. (19/10/06)
