Howe Robinson Partners is operational from today 1 April with Howe Robinson chairman Peter Kerr-Dinean chairman of the new venture. ICAP has a 35% stake in the joint venture.
The merged company has 240 employees globally with offices initially located in London, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Gibraltar, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo. It is intended to transfer ICAP Shipping's India, Dubai and US offices to the new company "in due course".
"Howe Robinson and ICAP Shipping are highly complementary global businesses. The new venture will enable us to better service the diverse needs of our clients operating across multiple locations and market segments, now and into the future," said Paul Newman, chairman, ICAP Energy.
