ICTSI Bauan terminal lifts big

Manila: International Container Terminal Services Inc.'s (ICTSI) Batangas unit, Bauan International Port, Inc. (BIPI), manager and operator of the Bauan Terminal in Batangas, Southern Philippines, recently handled heavy components of a nickel mine fabricated by Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Co. for a mining company in New Caledonia. Part of the loaded equipment was a 570-ton Pyrohydrolysis and evaporation module (in photo), the heaviest single lift recorded at the terminal. The handling of the mega cargo makes the Bauan Terminal the leading heavy lift cargo terminal in the Philippines. The Bauan Terminal, a multi-purpose cargo handling facility, handles roll on-roll off break bulk, containerized and other project cargo. ICTSI is a leading developer, manager and operator of container terminals worldwide. It is competing with DP World for the rights to further develop Batangas Port. [30/05/07]
