ICTSI seals deals to operate two Papua New Guinea ports
International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) has sealed a deal for 25-year operating concessions for two international ports in Papua New Guinea (PNG), local reports said.

"The terminal operating agreements were signed by ICTSI’s PNG subsidiaries, Motukea International Terminal Limited (MITL) and South Pacific International Container Terminal Limited (SPICTL), with the PNG state-owned enterprise, PNG Ports Corp Limited (PNGPCL) for the operation, management and development of the two ports,” the port operator said.

MITL will deploy cranes, berth and yard equipment for the Port of Motukea located near Port Moresby, which is set to replace the facilities at the main city.SPICT will provide cranes, berth and yard equipment for operations at the Port of Lae, the PNG's largest container handling facility.

No financial details of the deals were disclosed.
