India makes a splash at Posidonia

Mumbai: Indian exhibitors returned home over the weekend following a triumphant week in Athens where they made their debut at the world's most international show, Posidonia. In addition to highlighting the benefits of working with Indian companies such as cheap labour, higher quality of fabrication, good banking support as well as trained technical staff and expertise, the collective of stands won the Best National Pavilion award from the official newspaper of the show, Posidonia Today.

The 285 sq mtr pavilion featured thirteen companies representing the best of the Indian maritime sector ranging from prolific shipyards, owners to operators and equipment providers. It was visited by thousands of visitors, including the Greek Prime Minister, ensuring that it was one of the most high profile pavilions at Posidonia 2010.

The member companies are expected to reap the benefits of the contacts made at the show in the coming months. The companies present at the pavilion were Corporate Consultancy & Engineering Enterprise, Timblo Drydocks, Marine Electricals, Bharati Shipyard, Chowgule & Company, Modest Infrastructure, ABG Shipyard, Pipavav Shipyard, Indian Register of Shipping, Shoft Shipyard, Shipping Corporation of India, Cochin Shipyard and Great offshore.  [14/06/10]
