Interest arises for Kedah port project
Little known Luster Industries Bhd has reportedly been invited by the Kedah government to take part in the Kuala Muda port development project, its group managing director Lim See Chea was quoted as saying.

The company's involvement would be on a commercial or privatisation basis, he said adding that discussions are at a preliminary stage at the moment. Lim added that a meeting would be arranged with the Malaysian state's Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Mukhriz Mahathir next week. Mukhriz is the third son of former long-running Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad.

Meanwhile there has been speculation that Syed Mokhtar-linked Puncak Semangat is one of three parties believed to be in talks to take over Luster.
