Baghdad: Iraq's Transport Ministry said on Sunday it would invite foreign firms in early March to submit bids to build 10 ships, including bulk carriers and boxships, Reuters reported.
The country launched maritime fleet rebuilding project in 2009, the fleet expansion project is part of the government's investment plan. Ismat Amer, head of Sea Transport Company said.
"The Transport Ministry intends to invite specialized firms at the beginning of March to build a fleet of 10 ships of different purposes," Amer said, the deal was worth some $110 million. he added. [17/01/11]
