IRISL readies for repair debut

Tehran: Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) will soon add ship repair to its business portfolio. It has recently entered into an agreement to establish a new ship repair yard jointly with compatriot builder Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co. (ISOICO). The new firm will offer its services to both domestic and overseas owners. The new company Pars Bandar Abbas Shipbuilding, located 35km west of Bandar Abbas, will be owned 51% by IRISL and 49% by ISOICO. The facility will be able to handles ships up to 500,000 dwt.  [14/12/06]
