Singapore: Up-and-coming shipmanager Ishima has set out an ambitious goal to become the leading shipmanager in Singapore in the coming years. Founded in August 2005 by ex-Univan employee J C Das with D'Amico as the key shareholder, Ishima currently has 16 ships on its books with another five locked in to arrive shortly. Ishima's Singapore office, just down the corridor from D'Amico's chartering Singapore office, now has 40 staff members, though by mid-2008 the plan will be to move to larger premises as the fleet under full technical management should have grown to at least 30 vessels. 'Our aim is to make Ishima the biggest manager in Singapore,' Das told Seatrade. 'All our clients are growing,' he added. [04/12/06]
