Tokyo: The Isle of Man Registry has signed an agreement with Toko Maruraku Transportation to offer registration and other services in Japan.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the registry and Toko Maruraku the Japanese company will be able to carry out the registration of vessels and mortgage registration for the flag. The move will give owners in Japan and other East Asian markets access to Isle of Man services in their own timezone for the first time
"This MoU represents an important step forward for the Isle of Man Ship Registry. Japan is a country we have proactively targeted with our marketing efforts, especially over the past year," said Dick Welsh, director of Isle of Man Ship Registry. [25/01/10]
