ISMS certification for Essar Steel

Mumbai: Essar Steel Ltd (ESL) is believed to be the first Indian company to have won ISO 27001:2005 certification fot its Information Security Management System, from Italian classification society RINA. The company's Global Data Centre in Hazira, which support's the entire group's business functions, was certified through a series of Indian office audits. ESL offers integrated services in the steel sector including Essar Shipping, one of India's Big five owners, and the country's only port dedicated to steel trading, Hazira, which is entirely automated and able to handle 8m tonnes a year.  [28/07/06]
