Singapore: Inchcape Shipping Services has promoted Ashok Kumar to senior general manager - commercial, away from his previous role as ISS country manager for Egypt. In his new role Kumar will be responsible for the Asia Pacific region and be based in Singapore.
"Ashok spent 13 years in Egypt growing the business from a greenfield start-up to one with a turnover in excess of $3m per annum," said group commercial director, Rodney Lunn. "This he achieved through hard work, clear strategic planning and a very successful global sales campaign."
"His talents will be put to good use in Asia Pacific which is a region of such significant opportunity and growth for ISS," Lunn said, adding, "The region has sustained impressive growth for many years and ISS has been taking full advantage of these conditions. The company is now moving to set up its own network of offices in all major Chinese ports and is soon to venture into Vietnam."
Kumar's team for the region include Aggie Chai - business analyst (Singapore), Amy Chen - commercial manager (China) and Yvonne Ho - commercial manager (Singapore). [06/12/07]
