Tokyo: Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line) has announced that it is supplementing its red sea coverae by joining Hapag Lloyd (HL) and Wan Hai Lines' (WHL) Central-China/Red Sea (CRS) Service as of February 20 in anticipation of expected future traffic growth between China and Red Sea ports.
"K" Line's already operates an existing Red Sea Service (RSS) deploying seven vessels of 2000teu each on a 49 day round-trip voyage calling at: Shanghai - Ningbo - Hong Kong - Shekou - Singapore - Aden - Jeddah - Aqabah - Ain Sokhna - Aden - Singapore - Lam Chabang - Shekou - Shanghai.
The overall capacity and port rotation of CRS service remain the same with total of six containerships of 1200teu that follow the port rotation: Shanghai - Ningbo - Hong Kong - Shekou - Singapore - Port Kelang - Jeddah - Aqabah - Hodeidah - Port Kelang - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai. [12/02/08]
