Tokyo: Japan based Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line) has signed long term charter contract with Electricité de France (EDF) subsidiary EDF Trading for a newly built 177,000 dwt cape size dry bulk carrier. The arrangement, to begin in the first quarter of 2009, is in line with the "K" LINE Vision 2008 plan to increase their fleet to 25 vessels by 2009. EDF Trading has also has a 5 year time-charter agreement with Japanese shipping line NYK, signed earlier this year. [17/11/06]
