Shanghai: Chinese shipbuilding has taken another step towards total vessel capabilities with news Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard is embarking on building the country's first cable-layer.
The ship is being built for local Zhejiang Zhoushan Electric Power Company and will be called Zhoudian No.7.
The ship, designed by Zhejiang Seahead Ship Design and Research Institute Co, will take 16 months to build. [7/7/08]
