Subsidiary Keppel Singmarine has secured a trio of Bumi Armada Offshore Holdings contracts to build three ice class workboats, including two supply vessels and a multi-purpose duty-rescue vessel, for operation in the Filanovsky oil field in the Caspian Sea.
Keppel Shipyard has been contracted to build an external turret mooring system to be delivered to single-point mooring specialist Sofec in the first few months of 2015. The system will be fitted to an FPSO, which will be deployed in the waters of the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme fields in Ghana, averaging 1,500m deep.
Meanwhile China’s Keppel Nantong has won orders for two tugs for KSP Towage. The tugs, slated for delivery in the third quarter of this year, will be chartered for deployment in Malaysia.
Keppel O&M Marine & Technology md Michael Chia said: "Keppel Shipyard's latest contract bears testament to our expertise and experience in Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) turret fabrication and installation, while Keppel Singmarine's and Keppel Nantong's contracts reiterate our competency in the construction of a variety of ships, including ice-class vessels."
