Keppel Singmarine signs $51.9m in new contracts
Keppel Singmarine has secured SGD65m ($51.9m) in contracts for the construction of an Anchor Handling Tug (AHT) and technical services for the construction of a liftboat.

Seaways International ordered the Robert Allen-designed ship, the fifth AHT it has ordered from the yard. The 100 tonne bollard pull, DP2 vessel will have fire fighting class one and two, oil recovery class one capabilities and is due for delivery in Q2 2016.

In a first for the Keppel Offshore & Marine subsidiary, it will provide detail and production engineering as well as technical, commissioning and procurement support to Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM), the group's joint venture yard in Qatar, for a liftboat project.

Abu Bakar Mohd Nor, md of Keppel Singmarine, said, "We are happy that Seaways has chosen to partner Keppel again in growing their AHT fleet. At Keppel, we strive to build long term relationships with our partners so that we can know and anticipate their needs. At the same time, by taking on new projects such as the liftboat, we continuously expand our suite of technology solutions so as to better meet the demands of the specialised shipbuilding market."
