Singapore: Keppel Corporation has opened a new shipyard in Nantong China, which will be used for building specialised vessels including tugboats and anchor handling tug supply vessels.
The Keppel Nantong Shipyard is capable of building up to 25 specialised vessels.
Choo Chiau Beng, Senior Executive Director of Keppel Corporation, told Channel News Asia: "Efficiency and productivity (at the shipyard) will approach Singapore's level in a very short time.
"As you can see here, there are two supply vessels under construction and we are hopeful that we can continue to invest and improve upon the facility here." [03/08/07]
