Busan: Norway's Knutsen OAS Shipping AS has contracted Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering to build a diesel electrcic propulsion, membrane containment type, 166,000 cu m LNG carrier for delivery in 2010, by which time Knutsen will be able to boast a total of six LNG vessels. Knutsen is paying NOK1.6bn for the ship which will be its largest LNG type yet. Knutsen, primarily a product and chemical player, can also lay claim to owning the world's smallest LNG ship with a capacity of just 1,100 cu m. [13.07.06]
