Singapore: MacGREGOR Group is launching a new Offshore division primarily to serve the Asia Pacific region, where 500 of the new division's 660 staff will be based, the rest being in Norway to cater for the North Sea market.
The move follows MacGREGOR's recent acquisitions of deck equipment specialist Plimsoll Corp in Singapore and offshore crane supplier Hydramarine of Norway. In 2006 the two had a combined turnover of approximately EUR104m and an order backlog of EUR175m. Both were financially consolidated into the MacGREGOR Group as of April 1.
MacGREGOR says the new Offshore division will enable a high level of attention and service to both the Asia Pacific and North Sea customer base and will form an important platform for the continuous development of existing, as well as new products, to serve the offshore industry. [05/06/07]
