Maersk Line restructures Asia - Red Sea FM5 service

Singapore - Maersk Line has announced a restructuring of the eastbound rotation of its Asia - Red Sea service FM5. "With the new rotation, we will start calling Salalah, our hub port in Oman, and Singapore instead of Port Klang and Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia," the Liner giant said in a statement.

Beginning October, the FM5 will follow the eastbound rotation: Aqaba (Jordan), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Salalah (Oman), Singapore, and Ningbo (China).

The new rotation is expected to allow weekly connection between Jeddah and in Salalah with enhanced "transhipment opportunities to the global Maersk Line vessel network" in addition to an 11 day transit between Jeddah to Singapore and a seven day connection from Salalah to Singapore.  [18/09/07]
