Maersk picks up $56m one-year jack-up rig extension from Petronas
The Maersk jack-up rig Maersk Convincer has gained a one-year contract extension worth $56m from Malaysian national oil company Petronas' exploration and production arm Petronas Carigali, according to local media reports.

The rig will be on contract with Petronas until mid-November 2015. Commenting on the deal, Maersk Drilling ceo Claus Hemmingsen said the contract extension would boost the relationship between Maersk Drilling and Petronas.
“Together with Petronas Carigali, our highly competent rig crew has delivered several challenging wells in safe and efficient ways,” he said.
Maersk Convincer is a BM 375 jack-up rig and has been working in Southeast Asia since its delivery from Singapore's Jurong Shipyard in 2008 and has been contracted to Petronas Carigali since 2011.
