Mumbai: Maersk Line has added a call at India's Pipavav port to its ME3 service running between Europe to the Middle East and South Asia. In a statement to the press, the Danish container giant said, "The Pipavav call will provide our customers with new opportunities in the North India market."
The added call is expected to bring customers benefits including cheaper and quicker inland haulage to and from North India as well as improve connectivity to the Maersk network.
The new rotation for the ME3 service is: Gioia Tauro (Italy), Algeciras (Spain), Tangier (Morocco), Tarragona (Spain), Gioia Tauro (Italy), Port Said (Egypt), Salalah (Oman), Jebel Ali (U.A.E.), Pipavav (India), Nhava Sheva (India), Jebel Ali (U.A.E.), and Port Said (Egypt).
The first vessel to call Pipavav will be the Nedlloyd Drake estimated to arrive 6 April 2009. [19/03/09]
