Kuala Lampur: Evergreen Group founder and chairman Dr Chang Yung-Fa (pictured), was awarded the tile of "Tan Sri" along with Malaysian federal award - the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota - by Malaysian King His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIII Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah.
The award, recognising Dr Chang's contribution to economic cooperation between Taiwan and Malaysia, is the latest in a string of accolades honouring the Evergreen chairman.
Dr Chang received the title of "Datuk along with another Malaysian award Darjah Yang Mulia Pangkuan Negeri in 2000 and was also appointed a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in acknowledgment of his services to shipping and British economic interests.
