Kuala Lumpur: A Malaysian owned containership has been hijacked by Somali pirates. The Malaysian-flagged Albedo, owned by Majestic Enrich Shipping, was hijacked in the early hours of 26 November 900nm east of Somalia according to EU Navfor. The vessel was bound for Jebel Ali from Mombasa and had 23 crew comprising Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Iranian nationals. Including the Albedo Somali pirates are currently holding 22 vessels with 521 hostages. [30/11/10]
