Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore appoints new head
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has announced the appointment of a new chief executive, Andrew Tan Kok Kiong, who will take over from 1 January 2014.

Tan, 46, is currently the deputy secrtary (special duties) in the ministry of transport and holds a concurrent appointment as fellow in the civil service college.

Tan, who holds a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Havard University, had previously held several positions in various Singapore ministries for more than 10 years

Lam Yi Young, 41, the present MPA chief executive was appointed since 1 May 2009.

“The ministry of transport would like to put on record its appreciation to Lam Yi Young for his significant contributions in his four and a half years as the chief executive of MPA,” Singapore's ministry of transport said in a statement.
