Leading maritime software provider Hanseaticsoft opened its first Asia office at Fusionopolis Place in Singapore in July as it steps up its expansion and brings its cloud-based ship management solution, Cloud Fleet Manager to the region.

Hanseaticsoft said it chose Singapore because it is the number one maritime shipping hub in the world and a leading city for technology and innovation. The company will be helping shipping companies understand the potential of cloud technology to drive efficiencies in ship management and introduce the features and benefits of Cloud Fleet Manager.

Cloud-technology is having a significant impact on the way shipping companies operate – improving the ease of data access, ensuring greater availability of information regardless of time or location and reducing data silos and excess work through its automation. Additionally, the cloud makes it much easier for companies to integrate their systems and processes.

Hanseaticsoft md Alexander Buchmann said: “Cloud technology is the big game changer of the 21st century. It is supporting the digital transformation of the shipping industry, streamlining business and management processes and leading to greater efficiencies and increased profitability.

“We’re delighted to establish a base in Singapore, one of the world’s great shipping capitals. We’re looking forward to travelling around the region and meeting prospects to talk about the exciting potential of new technologies in the maritime business.”

Following a significant investment by Lloyd’s Register (LR) in 2017, Hanseaticsoft grew substantially, with 15 new shipping companies choosing Cloud Fleet Manager (CFM), a web-based platform that enables shipping companies to manage their entire fleet, adding 500 more vessels to its system.

Cloud Fleet Manager allows data to be centralised, processed and accessed in real time using apps and mobile devices. It improves communication between staff at land and sea. Cloud Fleet Manager offers more than 20 different business apps and 40 companies, including OSM Maritime Group in Singapore, are now using the system to manage inspections, for crew management, purchasing and other processes in real time.
