Marorka and SMDERI said they will work together to promote the application of energy management and operational performance solutions in the Chinese market, to further enhance ship efficiency and to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
The organisations believed that these are essential objectives for improving the core competitiveness of China’s shipbuilding and shipping companies.
“It is important to raise the awareness of crew onboard and operators onshore so that we can align energy management measures and reap the full benefits from advanced onboard tools,’’ said Hou Liping, deputy managing director of Cosco Shipping Lines.
Marorka and SMDERI pointed out that the ability to train seafarers in mainland China is an enormous step towards significant environmental awareness and sizable financial gains for the Chinese shipping industry.
