Singapore: Maersk has made much fuss about boosting its intra-Asia network in the coming years. Its dedicated Singaporean intra-Asia subsidiary MCC Transport has just announced that from late March it will introduce a new service connecting Japan directly with Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and China. It is doing this by extending its IA-5 service connecting Japan and China. This extension will be the first time any liner has connected Japan directly with Sihanoukville in Cambodia. The new service directly connects four major Japanese ports of Osaka, Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya to Ho Chi Minh City, Sihanoukville and Laem Chabang. [05/03/10]
