Dubai: Caribbean based St. Kitts & Nevis International Ship Registry (SKANReg) believes that the likely boom to ocean trade in the Middle East region makes the region as a rich source for inward investment to the Caribbean. Nigel Smith, international registrar of shipping and seamen for SKANReg said: "As the Middle East's political situation gets calmer, trade and exports within the region will grow and shipping will carry 80-90% of that growth in trade.' The group, which already represents Middle East shipping lines like FAL Shipping, Dubai Coast Shipping, United Marine Cargo Services, Gulf Energy, Akron Trading and Novstar Shipping, plans to target shipping companies present at the prestigious Seatrade Middle East Maritime exhibition (SMEM) in Dubai on December 4-6.
