MMHE bags $86m in new deals
Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) has sealed a total of MYR324m ($86.3m) worth of contracts from Petronas Carigali, Hyundai Heavy Industries, MISC and EA Technique for a variety of work ranging from offshore structural component fabrication work, hook up and commissioning and related topside construction work for facilities improvement project to marine repair and conversion, local media reported.

MMHE md and ceo Abu Fitri Abdul Jalil said the company had already secured close to MYR400m worth of projects year-to-date, and was reasonably optimistic of building up its orderbook and actively bidding for a number of sanctioned projects domestically and internationally.

The first contract is from Hyundai Heavy Industries for the fabrication of substructures and bridge for the Baronia CPP-B project, offshore Miri in Sarawak.

The second contract is a Petronas Carigali deal with MMHE appointed as contractor for the Facilities Improvement Project Package C: Peninsular Malaysia offshore operations.

The third contract is a repair life extension project and dry-docking for two LNG carrier vessels for MISC namely Puteri Intan and Puteri Delima, while the last contract is a floating, storage and offloading conversion deal for EA Technique.
