MOL to establish Pakistani subsidiary

MOL to establish Pakistani subsidiary

Tokyo: Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has announced plans to open a new subsidiary in Pakistan as of April 16. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Pakistan will handle all MOL's liner and non-liner business and ocean consolidation business (OCB). The new company will assume the duties currently handled by Asiatic Shipping Agencies as MOL's sole agent in Pakistan.

MOL made the decision to open the subsidiary based on the tremendous economic growth in the Pakistani region. The new company is expected to expand MOL's global network and increase business by improving customer service and by implementing cost reduction, under control of MOL's subsidiary MOL (Asia) in Hong Kong, which oversees operations throughout Asia.

The first vessel, the M/V MOL Ability V.005 is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on April 15.  [04/04/07]
