Hanoi: Mitsui OSK Lines president Akimitsu Ashida has outlined plans by his company to invest heavily in Vietnam during a visit to the country. He told the local press that MOL would focus on eight service areas: port logistics, forwarding, seafarer training, shiprepair, marine pilot activities, transhipment and tourism. Research is underway to build a depot in the Cai Mep port complex, he said, while a shiprepair complex able to handle around 10% of the national fleet is planned for the same southern province of Baria-Vung Tau. Separately, the company yesterday announced a new Singapore Chennai Express (SMX) service. Â [03/10/06]
