Tokyo: Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has announced that it will open a new company in Gdynia, Poland effective April 1. The company, named MOL (Europe) BV Sp. z.o.o. Oddzial w Polsce, will serve as a branch of MOL (Europe) BV and will principally handle its liner business previously managed by MOL's polish agent - Vector Shipping. The new company aims to expand MOL's global network and specifically increase business in East Europe.
Other offices catering to this market include MOL Austria (leading Central East Europe) and MOL's representative office in Russia (leading Russia and the Baltic States). Both branches come under the supervision of MOL's subsidiary MOL (Europe) Region Centre, in Hamburg, which oversees operations throughout Germany and East Europe. [28/03/07]
