Tokyo: Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has launched new training initiatives in Vietnam, China and India. In Vietnam it is introducing its 'MOL Class' programme for high-level safety and related training for cadets at the Vietnam Maritime University and University of Transport in Ho Chi Minh City, and in China it is doing the same at Dalian Maritime University in a jv with Cosco. In India it has agreed with the Maharastra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) - located in Pune about 200km southeast of Mumbai - to establish a new MOL Training Centre (MANET-India). The new facility's equipment will include a full-mission ship's bridge simulator and will complement the company's existing MOL Training Centre (India), which it has successfully run since 2001.
