MSC ropes in CMA CGM to enhance Australia Express service

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will be upgrading its Australia Express service between Europe/Indian Ocean and Australia under a new partnership with CMA CGM.

The vessel sharing agreement between the two carriers will see them jointly operate the service linking the North West Continent and the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean and Australia on the southbound leg and Australia to Southeast Asia, Indian Subcontinent and Europe on the northbound leg.

Due to start in September this year, the Australia Express will operate with 14 containerships of 9,500 teu in capacity each, of which nine will be provided by MSC.

The ports rotation will be London Gateway, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Fos-sur-mer, La Spezia, Genoa, Gioia Tauro, Pointe des Galets, Port Louis, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Singapore, Colombo, Valencia, Sines, and London Gateway.
