Ho Chi Minh City: Germany's MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, one of the world's leading manufacturers of large diesel engines and complete drive systems, has opened up a subsidiary in the merging maritime nation of Vietnam. The subsidiary will handle customer service, spare parts and engage in a wide number of sectors including commercial marine, naval marine, and energy.
Covering diesel engines and gas turbines,MTU's applications range from ships to heavy land and rail vehicles and from vehicles and equipment for the construction, industrial and agricultural sectors to decentralized power generation plants.
MTU joins a rapidly expanding club of international maritime equipment manufacturers piling into Vietnam, a set that now includes Aalborg, Viking and Doosan. [17/7/08]
