Nam Cheong bags $130m Bumi Armada MPSV order
Singapore: Malaysian firms Nam Cheong and Bumi Armada have announced contract agreements worth $130m, with orders for four MPSVs and an option for four more.

The four 5,000dwt vessels are designed to transport cargo and to stand by for rescue work. Each unit will be 88.8 m long and have Dynamic Positioning class two (DP2) capability. Building will take place at one of Nam Cheong’s subcontracted yards in China.

“We are delighted to have clinched these sale contracts with Bumi Armada," said Leong Seng Keat Nam Cheong’s executive director. "They represent one of Nam Cheong’s largest collective wins in our corporate history, thereby marking a significant milestone for us.  We are heartened by repeat orders from one of our long-time, blue-chip customers of more than 20 years.”

Nam Cheong’s orderbook stood at $421m on December 31, 2012.
