Dubai: GAC has appointed Captain Robert Olsson as marine representative at GAC Logistica do Brasil Ltda. Based in Rio de Janeiro, he will be responsible for supporting and driving the growth of its shipping, marine and oil & gas services in Brazil. "This new appointment is part of GAC's strategy to strengthen our presence in Brazil and we are pleased that Robert has agreed to take up this new challenge," says Lars Heisselberg, vp Americas. "He has a great understanding and experience of the maritime industry and I am confident that his competence and expertise will prove extremely valuable to the growing needs of our clients in the region."
Prior to this new appointment, Captain Olsson was the General Manager for GAC Shipping (USA) Inc based in Philadelphia and in charge of nationwide port agency operations in North America. He brings more than a decade of shipping and maritime industry experience where he was exposed to diverse aspects of the business, from maritime operations in ship supplies, car carrier, to cruise and oil & gas.
