Tokyo: Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has announced that current senior managing executive officer Koichi Muto (pictured) will take over as President of MOL. Muto takes over the position from Akimitsu Ashida, who has been promoted from president to chairman of the Board, subject to confirmation a meeting of the board of directors following the annual general meeting of shareholders on June 22, 2010.
Muto has been with the company since 1976 held a number of positions with the shipping giant. In an exclusive interview with Seatrade, the new president said that MOL will have a greater sales focus on Asia in the coming months.
