New president for Hanjin Shipping

Seoul:  Hanjin Shipping has announced today that current CEO& President, Jung Won Park will retire at the end of the year and Y.M. Kim, currently COO will replace him. Mr. Park is retiring after 36 years in the shipping industry and has led Hanjin's container liner business before assuming CEO position back in 2004.

Mr. Kim, new CEO& President joined Hanjin in Sep 2001 as a CEO of Total Terminals in the U.S. He joined Hanjin's management in Seoul in January 2004 and has acted in the capacity of deputy CEO for last 4 years overseeing overall business activities of Hanjin. Prior to joining Hanjin Shipping, Mr. Kim spent 20 years with Citigroup with postings in Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and New York and his last position at Citi was Managing Director in Citi's Global Corporate and Investment Banking in New York head office.

In addition, Hanjin appointed W.W. Lee as new Chief Executive for Container Liner Business and D.H. Baek as new Chief Executive for Bulk Business. Both of them are seasoned shipping executives with extensive industry experiences. [17/12/08]
