New service to link China, India and Middle East

Hong Kong: Emirates Shipping Line, the start-up company founded this year by former Norasia boss Vikas Khan, will next month launch the Hyper Galex service providing comprehensive port connections in China, India and the Middle East.

Service will be assured by six vessels of 3,100teu and speed of 22.5knots, four provided by Emirates and one apiece by partners Shipping Corporation of India and TS Lines. OOCL and NYK/TSK will be co-loading as slot users.

Due to start November 11, Hyper Galex will have the distinction of offering the first direct links between Xingang in China and Dammam in Saudi Arabia, as well as between Cochin and North China.

'Hyper Galex provides comprehensive container shipping links between three of the world's fastest growing economic regions,' says Khan. 'With this in mind we have focused on providing a very wide port coverage for our customers.'

Port rotation will be Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali, Cochin, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Xingang.  [16/10/06]
