Singapore: A.P. Moller - Maersk Group's logistics arm Damco has announced plans for the construction of a new integrated logistics centre at Binh Duong, 25 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. The 26,000 square facility, which will see an investment of over $4m, will serve both Cat Lai port and Cai Mep port upon by April 2011. A plan to link the facility to barge infrastructure as an alternative to truck transport is also in place to reduce overall transportation costs and carbon emissions.
