Northport orders new quay cranes

Kuala Lumpur: The port of Northport in Malaysia has ordered three new super post-panamax ship-to-shore cranes with twin- lift capabilities for their third container terminal, to cater for the increased numbers of mega- size container carriers calling at the port. The cranes, manufactured by local company IMPSA Malaysia, are due for delivery next month in addition to three empty stackers and 14 straddle carriers.  [14/11/06]
