Tokyo: The 2008 Sea Japan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference held last week in Tokyo proved highly successful, surpassing the previous edition two years ago in terms of both the number of exhibitors and attendees.
Held at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center April 9-11, the event drew 17,042 visitors over the three days, compared to 16,834 in 2006. The number of exhibitors rose from 332 to 364, drawn from 25 countries and regions. A fuller breakdown and analysis of figures will be published later.
Organised by CMP Business Media, Sea Japan 2008 was supported by a number of leading Japanese organisations including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; The Japanese Shipowners' Association; The Shipbuilders' Association of Japan; Japan Ship Exporters' Association; Japan Marine Equipment Association and JETRO.
