NYK launches new Asia-Adriatic service

Tokyo: Japanese liner Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has started a new service from Asia into the Adriatic region via the China-Europe Shuttle (CES) service. The CES service will connect Taranto onto two Adriatic services - Adriatic Service 1 and Adriatic Service 2 (ADS1 and ADS2). "It will expand our coverage from Asia to the northern Adriatic ports of Venice, Koper, Trieste, Rijeka and offers an important gateway to Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, Croatia, and north Italy," NYK said. The new service started with the westbound voyage of CES leaving Kaohsiung on 28 December last year. The first eastbound sailing will be the CES leaving Taranto on 8 February 2011. [06/01/11]
